All 426 rooms boast fireplaces and offer free WiFi and balconies or patios. 24-hour room service and minibars are standard, as are LED TVs with cable channels.

The above discription is from Expedia about TTR. I have never heard of any rooms having a fireplace. Why would you want one in Cancun?

 

Yea I had a fireplace in my room. We light it every night, lay on the bearskin rug, and sip beverages out of the premium mini-bar.

 

Thank god they don't have fireplaces. Based on the shotty workmanship on some other new items (blinds, lights, etc.) I would be worried about the place burning down ha

 

This would be funny. No AC. 92 degrees F. But enjoy the fireplace in your room to pass the time.

 

Do you know if the old garden rooms were renovated?

 

Yes they the old rooms did get renovated.

I heard someone slipped and fell down a flight of stairs today (via FB). I may need to update my will before heading there on Tuesday. SMH

Don't worry about him ..... he may have done it to get a few days free.

When I was there a guy slipped when room had flooding issue due to storm. He got a free week for breaking his finger when he fell.

I'd take a free week for a broken finger.

Hopefully you'll see what we all like about this place. If not, get some glasses.

I once slipped and fell down the stairs at home. I had to have emergency surgery was out of commission for six months. Anyone who would do that on purpose is a complete imbecile. I'll let you know how I like it. But if I don't have fully functional A/C, hot water, and proper water drainage/plumbing/sewage, I will not be back.
