We went to GOV last year and are thinking about going to TTR this year. Our biggest complaint with GOV was the temperature in the room. The AC just did not get the job done. We even had them work on it once and it was some better but not cold at all. Is this something common in Cancun or did we get a bad room. We like it nice and cool when we are playing and sleeping. Please give us some level of comfort that the AC in the room will be nice and cool.
Some rooms have better AC than other rooms. We have never had an issue with the AC in our room in any of our five previous trips.
We've never had any issues at all. There was a thread last month where one couple had some A/C issues...and there were about 200 posts with worried people...but no one has raised the issue since then. We sleep with the patio door open every night anyway...after a long Wisconsin winter...we want all the fresh air and tropical bird noises we can get.
Sometimes it is hard to tell if I am sweating in the room because the alcohol is trying to find a way to escape my body, or the AC is not cold enough. But seriously had a room 3rd floor 5000 building Sept 14, and never had an issue. Had a ground floor Jacuzzi room around the quiet pool (they have their own thermostat control) in Sept 15 and it was a temperamental, but it really wasn't that big of a problem and I love AC. It was so hot then, that I am sure the thing was putting in a good fight. If you leave the door open, all that humidity pours in. Really only bothered me when trying to get dressed nice before going to dinner, but that is a common issue even at home with two people, hot shower, ironing board, hair dryer, hair straightener, and me running my fat mouth.
We were just there at the beginning of Feb. We stayed in the first room 1 night and the A/C was perfect. We changed rooms the next day and the thermostat didn't work in this room. As long as the A/C switch was on, it would constantly run. It was a little chilly in the middle of the night, but we liked to keep it running for the white noise. I would much rather have it a little too cold than too hot.
Steve you make me laugh out loud in the office, which gives away that I'm looking at the internet when I should be working. Definitely get the 'am I sweating because I'm hot' or 'sweating because of the alcohol' feeling!
