I was reading on another message board about a different resort and one of the things that the vets there recommend is bringing lysol wipes to wipe down parts of the room and especially the AC unit. Does it seem to anyone besides me that this should not be necessary at a resort you are paying to go to?
Please tell me there are not similar concerns at TTR!

I've never had a complaint with the rooms at all. The staff seems to take pride in what they do...and they certainly earn their tips by the end of the week.

i would have to say 2 words.... HELL NO! we have only been there once and our first trip was at the beginning of April. If there was anything we were most impressed by was the housekeeping. We left stuff all over the place including "toys" and other unmentionables, but the room, when we got back, had been completely straightened and disinfected .Our stuff was moved and organized. You could clearly tell every inch of the room was wiped down and reorganized for just another night/day of crazy fun. Day after day it was the same scenario.

We did have a tendency to tip our housekeeper well and make a point when we saw her to hand the tip right to her and thank her for such a nice job. it could have had something to do with it but I highly doubt it.

We were there in mid July and have no complaints at all about the housekeeping. They did a GREAT job! We tipped them very well and in return got extra beer in our fridge, lots of extra water, and cute towel animals and decorations left for us. We brought our own air fresheners, but only because we have stayed on the beach many times and know how the humidity is.

    Our housekeeper(s) did a great job! :)

Trip # 9 or 10 soon and I have always felt sooo taken care of by my housekeepers. Every surface imaginable wiped down and smelling good. Bathroom items left out are martialed into a neat grouping, with the bed linens changed and the room smelling amazing. My x (whom I went with every trip before this one) had been a desk clerk and assistant manager of a hotel in the states and part of his job was to check regularly on the job his housekeepers do, and occasionally if they were short staffed jump in and help... He was nothing but impressed with the care that we always got at TTR.

What GNCNEW said, I stayed in the 5000 building end of July to the first of August and housekeeper Diana did an excellent job keeping room cleaned. I always left tip under her little plastic stand with name on it and on the writting pad any request I had, like extra water, cokes, or beer she made sure it was in fridge.....No Complaints !!

Cleanliness of the rooms is very good. We had no complaints. One day I hand washed a few clothes in the sink, and the volume of water going down the plug hole did something funny to the drain and a bit of black 'gunk' surfaced out of it. Felt bad leaving that for the maid to clean but it was spotless when we came back later. Left a big tip that day!!

About the only thing we did notice was that the place is humid, but you're in that climate and nothing can be done about it. Tiles were slippy and the units in the bedroom felt moist on the outside. Leaving the AC on for a good hour or so cleared most of that problem, but if you were paranoid about that sort of thing then by all means bring your own disinfectant but I certainly don't think it's necessary.

What I will be bringing next time is some sort of plug-in insect repellent. I'm attractive to mosquitos and biting insects and woke up on a few occasions with new bites on my ankles where my feet weren't covered by the sheets.
