Hey all - so would like to get some advice before we book - we do not have an unlimited budget but would consider a higher grade room in the bash tower if it was recommended - I understand there are many stairs around the resort so I am just trying to picture that with many alcoholic drinks on board Thinking a room either on the ground floor or in the tower where there are elevators might be a good idea. If you have suggestions or comments they are welcome Thanks Jen
You're going to pay extra to stay in the tower and if stairs when drinking is the only concern save your money. Yeah there are stairs, and hand rails. It's more the distance than the stairs and if that concerns you think of it as walking off the extra calories from drinking. Jamie
First - in general as far as the what Floor to be on related to the steps. Prior to the reno, it could be a huge hike up to the 4th floor. Post reno - if you walk out from the tower lobby/bash level on either side of the tower - you will be about 1/2 way between the top and bottom floors. Not too much worry about the steps. If you are at the sexy pool level and your room is on the 3rd or 4th Floor - you can use the ramp to get to the lobby and avoid a lot of steps . Personally - I am not a fan of garden view rooms (although many, many folks will say who cares - how much am I in the room anyway). They seem pretty small to me and some have really awful views. So to me, an upgrade to ocean view is a the "sweet spot" - I get a bigger room and most likely a pretty good to excellent view and at a (to me) reasonable premium over a garden. From there, I would not pay a lot more to go to either a jacuzzi or Temptation Suite - I don't see the benefit. But lots of people love those rooms (especially the Jacuzzi rooms) so if that is important to you, go for it. Not withstanding the fact that I upgraded my contact to a bash tower room (for reasons other than price), if I was a non-member (even on a referral) I would not pay the premium for a tower room. The best thing you get is free access to the rooftop (which I do love - I think the food is the best for lunch anywhere at the resort). But, there isn't much action there so you might not want to go up there everyday anyway. I would get an ocean view, pay the 40 for ONE day access to the rooftop and save the rest of the money on upgrading to the tower. If you are on referral, you get rooftop access no mater what room type so that to is a way to get the best of all worlds - garden/ocean room price, free rooftop access. As a first timer, it seems to me I would want a less expensive option. Then, if I love the place and return, I know a lot more about what I want and can opt for a more expensive room. I would rather spend less money at first and wish I had spent more, rather than spend a lot and regret it. All of course is my opinion - plenty of folks will have a very different take. There is no "perfect answer" that applies to everyone.
