Has anyone brought there on carton of rolled cigarettes my friend that is coming with me rolls her own any help would be greatly appreciated
I could see the customs agents taking a closer look at you, but I would think you should be ok if it's just tobacco .
The maximum she can bring in is 200 grams of loose tobacco. or 10 packages of already rolled cigarettes. Smokes are pretty cheap in Cancun, go hit up Walmart or a store that is not in the hotel zone (cheaper) on the way to the resort and just buy a carton instead of tempting fate with customs. Last time I was there about a year ago a carton of Marlboro smokes would run about $30 or so.
We do our own cigs and we just buy ours at the duty free at the air port. They are like $32.00 a carton so we just go that route we don 't want customs to stop us for our own cigs, not worth the problem. The cost at the duty free is worth it.
