During our visit to Pearl last fall we were told RM was under a major renovation including a new pool, lobby, guest rooms. What is the status of all this? Thanks!
Still under construction as we were just there last week. Looks like it’s a long ways out to me but I could be wrong. Still pouring a lot of concrete on ground floors
FYI - there is no construction occurring on the existing Desire RM property. There is construction occurring on a new area to the north of the existing Desire RM property that will be added to the resort when completed.
Exactly what we heard last year during the "meeting" to try to get me to spend more money. They said that they'd be using the "next property over" to run-up their expansion, leaving the existing facilities as they are until the replacements are each up and running, before systematically "shifting" folks to "new" pool from "old" pool, etc. Same for spa (sinking into the ground), creating a new "Mansion" there as well as several new Villas (although for the life of me I don't understand people who "want" to stay in the villas). So, good to know that the "plan" they shared is actually being followed and my August trip this year won't be too disturbed.
We just got back from RM. During the high-pressure sales pitch, they said it was to open at the end of the year. But I'd guess next year by the looks of it. The new area will have a new party pool, jacuzzi and playroom, plus more rooms obviously. the old pool will become the quiet pool. the curent property will not be renovated at all. all the money is going into the new expanded area.
Looks like DRM just posted the new construction/expansion room categories (in blue) on the availability calendar. Second week of Feb '24 the resort is showing availability, but not taking reservations yet. So with predictable optimism...maybe by Aug '24 they will be ready? Guessing the new pool will be completed when the rooms are.
