Can anyone tell me a bit more about the rooms there please? This is our first time to Mexico and went through a TA and she said this one is so great for 2 adults and 1 17 yr old. As I look at the pics online, I notice that there is no door on the bathroom and the beds are butted up together.....what the hell is with that? It was given 5 stars out of 6 so I was thinking it would be pretty nice however I'm not sure now. Has anyone stayed there to give me some info? THANKS!:angel1:
Stayed down the block at Riu Yucatan two years ago and visited the Playcar. Sounds like the rooms are the same. There was a curtain where the door would normally be. The shower was quite small with a shower curtain. There was a door for the toilet area at least. Defiantly not 5 star or even 4 but how much time do you spend in the bathroom anyway. I have stayed at 5 different Riu's in Mexico and Jamaica and every room had two beds that are pushed together. They can be separated if the situation warrants. The good news is that is about the only bad thing about the hotel. The beach, grounds and pools are awesome. You can visit three other Rius in the area (walking distance). Be sure and check out 5th avenue. It's a $5 cab ride from the hotel. You will have a great time.
We have stayed at 3 of the Riu in Playa. The curtain can be let down for a door if needed. We enjoyed all the places. People and food were great. Also gamesfor the older kids. Hope you enjoy
