well if the riu cancun next door does it I guess the riu palace las americas will do the same. our friends were on there anniversary and were upgraded to the annexe junior suite with champagne and choccies and towel art daily went in to the palace next door beautiful lobby and facilities and took lots of photos but!! most of the guests were using the riu next door but the standard room is a junior suite in the palace so an upgrade would be a real bonus in them. just email them with your details and leave it with them you may get a nice surprise. ps the riu cancun were giving free upgrades to the luxury palace in playa del carmen with transfers for free when we were ther you just need to keep an eye on the notices in reception for these options
