This is how it works: if book Riu Palace Las Americas, you are allowed to use the facilities at RIU Cancun and Caribe.
If you book Cancun you can also use facilities at Caribe. If you book Caribe you can only use facilities at Caribe.
Unless something has changed, this is how I think it works.

i was told that since i booked caribe, i could also use riu cancun facilities but would be at bottom of the priority list when it can to cancun restaurants...

guess i'll find out for sure when i get there!

I remembered a few more things about the Riu Caribe...Its at the end of the hotel zone (coming from the airport)..the beach is much calmer but there was a bit of seaweed on the beach (hotel staff tries to keep it up)...it is the smallest of the 3 in Cancun and a bit calmer than the Riu Cancun. There is not much within walking distance other than a flea market. You will be able to go to Riu Cancun but not Riu Palace...they are next door to each other anyways..the Riu Cancun is a beautiful resort so hop on the bus and hang out for the day..it is very close to a lot of restaurants and shopping. Its huge and very lively!
