Anyone know if it is yet possible to purchase one of the direct UK charter flights originating here in Cancun? I would expect they have plenty of empty seats at the moment.
No, unfortunately it's not. Have made several enquiries on this. The rule is that you must have travelled out with them in order to travel back. The original date of travel used to have to be no longer than a year (which allowed for us to go back every 11 months) but now it's 6 months which pretty much rules it out. Prices are a flat £400 per person (one way) which makes them quite expensive too.
I tried last year and found one of them (can't remember which) that would let me buy the ticket originating in Cancun if I paid with a credit card in my name with a residence in the UK. Must have something to do with the laws since I can't imagine them not wanting to fill seats.
