So here is my question for the day............. Being that TTR is All inclusive I am assuming we would not have to pay at any of their restaurants. However someone had told me that you do have to pay at the restaurants you make reservations at? Our last trip we went as a "regular" guest, and I cant remember if we paid for meals at the restaurants (The Village Wok, Il Piacere, Bellavista) Our next trip we are using a referral so again.....do we need to pay with a white bracelet? Thank You Shelley
You never pay at any of the restaurants. Reservation, no reservation, white bracelet, red bracelet, pants on, pants off...it just doesn't matter. However, there are drinks and other special items(i think) on the menu that have a price next to them. They aren't included. You do pay for those.
I know you can upgrade to special meals, like a lobster dinner for an extra cost. I haven't been to TTR yet, but if it's anything like Desire, absolutely everything was included except the optional dinner upgrades, and top shelf vintage wines in the restaurants. We never paid a dime for food (just some tips) and had excellent meals. I'm talking sushi, roasted quail, beef carpaccio, and triple desserts every night. Desire also charged a $5 room service fee, but the actual food was no charge. That was just for delivery to the room. Honestly, the "free" food was high quality, with a lot of variety. I never felt like I should spend another $20 just to get lobster instead of a filet. There were only 1 or 2 upgrade choices each night, so you're not really missing anything with the other 8-10 options being included at no charge. You're not going to be forced to decide between the $20 lobster or a "free" hamburger. The only time I noticed someone with "upgraded" food was a couple having a candlelight dinner on the beach. I think that was about $100, which covered the food, a table in the sand, an awning over top, candles, champagne, and personal butlers just for them. That might be worth it.
Lots of great meals at the restaurants that are included but there are a few meals you can pay $$$ Without having a menu I would say 12 to 18 inclusive meals and lobster and maybe 2 more for $$$ so really you would not have to spend anything unless you really like lobster Oh you can also order bottles of better wine, we're not wine fans so I really can't tell you how bad the "house" wine is.
You don't have to pay in any of the restaurants except for a handful of specials, steak and lobster for example in BellaVista, and I think there is some sort of King Prawn Curry in The Villiage Wok etc, but that's it, the rest is all inclusive, also the house wine is ok, not the best i've tasted but good enough!
