Does anyone know the menu for TTR resturants, specially the a la carte restaurants and what is recommended. i knw food is least of the worries at such a vacation (beach, booze and fun) but we are foodies so are always keen to know this before we go.
Both the Italian restaurant and the Asian restaurants at TTR are excellent. I don't remember the exact menu or ala carte items but we enjoyed our meals at both places. Make sure to order sexy coffee at the Italian restaurant!
I completely agree with TRACO. TTR also sent out an email a month or two ago saying they are redoing the menus, so hopefully it's getting even better. There are normally plenty of options to choose from, so I wouldn't worry about it.
Because its all-inclusive and all of the food is par-cooked before ordering - food comes out quickly and if you do not like something send the waiter back with it and order something else. And of course if you really like something ask the waiter to bring you a 2nd. If you are a true foodie with a sophisticated palate and have eaten many a meal in SF/NYC caliber restaurants you will quickly realize the food is mediocre. The best food we had at the resort was a bowl of Mexican soup called Pasole. Deep layered flavors, rich red broth, spicy. Offered for breakfast on Saturday & Sunday.
The food is fine. I am not a foodie. Food is just fuel for the party. Good enough is fine with me. I have to say having been to NYC Rainbow Room etc. food is food. The food at Temptations is good enough. I thought the Rainbow room sucked by the way..... Top of the World in Honolulu was better and so was Stratosphere in Vegas. In fact is was not very impressed by the food in NYC, even in Little Italy. Tim
I love food, and I have no real complaints. There's plenty of variety if you look for it, and be sure to book into the speciality restaurants a few times. We loved the seafood place that you didn't have to make a reservation for - the steak served there was perfect. There's plenty of fresh fruit available in the mornings, and a fantastic banana smoothie that I've never seen served anywhere else. People rave about the omellette bar, but I thought it was no different than the egg you get on the self serve bit. I think next trip I'll take a picture of the menu and post what's on offer at the speciality places.
TRACO: I definite will, I assume its something like the Irish coffee.. andrewb_88: thanks IDareU: we are from NYC, but would hope the food is edible for the time we are there, but like ppl are sayin, if there are enough options I am sure something nice will turn up...
