hi all:aktion030:. Our holiday booked with Thomas cook states that they have an onsite rep, I have read loads of reviews and cant recall anyone mentioning their rep. does anyone know if there is one there:icon_biggrin:. 112 days to go:lotsofmichaelfs: Leeroy & Sarah x
OUtside the pool room all the reps share a room. They keep books there for excursions and departure times They rotate between hotel so they will only be there for a certain time frame each day.
Yes there is, on certain days. You'll get the spiel on the coach on the way there, unless you skip that and book USA Transfers (highly recommended - but do tell the Thomas Cook rep at the airport if you do, to save the others sitting on the coach waiting for you!) I've no idea what you may need to see a rep for, we never have! The times for the return flights are in a book in the rep room (see above). :daisy:
Never needed to see a rep yet but its handy to know there is one there in case of any problems. :mnm:. Leeroy & Sarah x
Last time we were there, we were told that we had to meet with our rep between 6 and 8 on our first day there. Our transfer from the airport was booked as part of our package and we were told that we had to meet our rep to confirm that we all made it there. All he did was try to sell us excursions. We were also told that we had to meet with him in the morning the day before we left. They said that we all had to show up to confirm our transfer back to the airport. Again, all he tried to do was sell us an excursion on our last day. This time when we booked, I told the travel agent that we do not want the transfers. I booked USA Transfers. We do not want to waste time on our trip trying to be nice by declining excursions.
There is a rep every few days but you get given a number to call if theres any problems ... :aktion060:
We booked USA Transfers when travelling from the UK as our previous experience with Thomas Cook was so bad ( sat on coach for an hour before leaving the airport, then we were the last drop another hour and half later!) anyway when we came out of the airport we we told the TC rep we wouldn't be riding with them. They were really pleased we had told them (we didn't think it was fair not too as they would have waited for us) BUT USA Transfers had already told them! Great service and we were at the hotel about 20-30 mins later! That's the only time we spoke to the rep!
That's correct! They want to meet you as soon as feasibly possible so that you don't have chance to find out that you can book the excursions for a little more than half the price they are selling them for, and tell you a few scary stories (that are untrue) about the poor quality of other excursion sellers. UK Reps are particularly bad, they sell excursions for the same price in Pounds as everyone else sells for in Dollars. There are 1.65 US Dollars to 1 Pound. The UK Reps also say that USD are not accepted in Cancun. That's because they don't accept them because they cant bank them and prefer Pounds they can send back or Pesos they can bank locally. No one else has a problem with USD.
Thomas Cook Fully support Steve's observations. We were at TTR in November, never met rep, too busy enjoying ourselves. Saw her/him on last day to check cost of exit visa at airport, then given wrong amount !! couldn't make it up........ Hoping to see you again in May, Steve. Keep those Boob Cruises sailing
To be fair when we were there last we had a Liverpool lad for a rep who I am now friends with on Facebook, he is now back home, married with a new baby and doing a juice diet business. I actually enjoy the coach bit Dropping off everyone!
