I have seen some posts talking about having to listen to a speech when you check in,,is this true? something like a time share thing? also what is this premier deal and what does it have to do with TTR or this other place is it pearl or destiny or something?
You don't have to listen to them, they just want to talk you into going to listen to timeshare, I usually tell them see them later and never do.
We always say we're from the UK and it's too far for us to make it worth our while and they've never bothered us since.
I must be a scary looking guy. Either that or a poor-ass broke looking guy. Cause I've been there 5 times and have never had anybody approach me about a timeshare.
Once you check-in you're done and free to go to your room, bar, etc. There are a number of very nice ladies hustling people to seats between the check-in desk and the rest of the resort. Here they'll tell you about the resort after you check in and before they walk you to your room. This is step 1 of the sales pitch. They'll give you a map of the facility, explain restaurants, give basic directions, and mention the tour agent on-site. They will also ask you to give a "deposit" for a personal tour or something or other the next morning. This is the hook for the sales presentation. The next morning you meet the greeter in the lobby, get your deposit back, meet a nice sales guy that gives you the $10 tour with breakfast (that's the get to know you and friendly part). After that the walk you to the business office where you get the thick sales pitch. (They make GREAT drinks up there.) If you want to avoid it, don't hand out a deposit after the introduction and be firm about not being interested. If you do want the sales pitch, that's also where you sign up for it.
they really do make some good drinks up thier and in big glasses, i stop in thier if i am near by just to get a drink.but if yr not intrested in buying don't bother, as it will cut into the parting.just give them a BS story and tell them no.
Brewster and I bought last year in April and if my memory serves me right they are not supposed to Solicit you if they have presented it to you before..there is some law or something.. if you have done it before just tell them that.. if you have done it and want to see the lates pitch then go for it.. if you have never done it and dont want to.. when they ask if you would like a tour of the resort just say no thank you. you may have to say it a couple times "as your walking away" but.. just politely say no thanks..
There was a lady standing there when we checked in but she did not approach us at all the next morning the phone rang at a very early hour I just unplugged the phone
