I was reading on CNN today about how some hotels/resorts are tacking on almost a hidden resort fee to all bills (see link). We will be at Temptations in June and would be good to know if they do this or not. We've prepaid via a travel agent already so not really sure if there were added fees there for the hotel beyond the normal nightly costs.

We booked through Liberty last year prepaid up front and had no fees at all (except all the optional tipping we did....and that added up).

Thanks guys - speaking of tipping, how much should we plan for in that regard? Did you tip in Peso or US$? This is our first trip there so want to be prepared and not come up short.

We haven't been charged any "resort fees", either. At Temptation or anywhere else we have stayed.

Sounds like a pretty sleazy arrangement Hotwire and Priceline have worked out with domestic hotel chains.

Tips in either US or Pesos are fine. Some people have mentioned they get two dollar bills but some staff are reluctant to spend them, as they consider them lucky.

    For meals 20%.

3-5 USD a day for the maids.

    Tip your bartenders well.....
