I will be arriving in Cancun on 2/13 with my wife and 4 boys (9,11,12,13)... Are there any "have to do's" while we are there? Also is there anything that I need to book in advance (like now) to make sure we get to do it?

    Thanks guys.

I don't think there are any have to do's, but there are some things that may be fun for the family. It is always fun to dive or snorkel and there are lots of things to do south of Cancun. There is Xel ha and Xcaret, I have never been to either but it is a big attraction. There is horse back riding and ATV's and there is also Tulum and Chitzen Itza. I have heard people talking about a pirate ship dinner and there is also a Wet N Wild water park in Cancun, the kids will like that. The best thing to do is when you check into your hotel get settled and then go down and there should be someone down in the lobby selling vacations, there are lots of things to pick from, but it is not cheap, you could easily spend a few hundred dollars with this stuff so beware. You should also schedule your return transportation back to the airport, it is easy to overlook and you want to make sure you are picked up on time!!!

Here is a link for Aqua World, they have lots of fun stuff to do, just play the video.

Airport Transportation is covered... I already rented a mini van...

Money is not an issue... We want to do it all. We are not the sit and relax type family... We have to be entertained...LOL.

Here are a few things that we have on our list so far...

    Xeiha
    Xcaret
    Tulum
    Chitzen Itza
    Tour Cenotes
    Isla Mujeres
    Dinner at Senor Frogs
    Snorkeling
    Cozumel (time permitting)
    Swim with the dolphins

The only one I would say you 'must' book in advance is Dolphin swims, they get busy in high season and since you are a group of 6 I would book that in advance to make sure there is availability for the day and place you want.
Swim with Dolphins in Cancun and Riviera Maya

The others, I would still suggest you book in advance to both save money and to deal with someone who you have some comeback with, instead of 'Luis' at the hotel tours desk who will forget you ever existed once you pay your money.

Have a browse through the many tour pages on the main website for info, video, pics and reservations:
Cancun Tours: Information on Tours in Cancun.

I liked the pirate ship dinner - would be cool for the kids, and for the adults a great time, and the food is quite good. Make friends with your waiter/waitress and they will keep your glasses full! Perhaps Steve has a link for this one...
