We are looking at renting a timeshare at TTR for our next trip. All of my previous trips to TTR have been booked online. Has anyone ever rented a week from a timeshare owner? We are also wanting the A/I . Any idea on how much the A/I option costs? Or is it included in their weekly rental? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you

We sat through the presentation and the way we understood the way it worked was:
-You have "free" weeks to give away that you can't use (which you get paid $250 if you give away)
-When someone uses the week they pay something like $57 per day plus the all inclusive rate
-The person using the week gets all the perks of being Premier - upgraded booze, don't have to pay extra for the meals that others do, etc

They also said the weeks could be used at either Temptation, the water park one, or Desire for essentially the same deal.

    That's how we remember it anyway . . .

    Mystra,

Thank you for the information. Saw you were at TTR just a couple weeks ago. Hope you had a great time. I love it there, would not want to go anywhere else and looking forward to going back in January 2012.

We talked with a owner about using one of their weeks for our upcoming visit on Dec 16-23. I think the A&I fee may vary with season. For the week we wanted, the per day A&I fee was $147 for oceanview or $122 for gardenview. You would have to add to this whatever fee you negogiate with the owner for the week. This person had never given away a week; we never got a warm, fuzzy feeling on how we would really know we had week reserved, or how long it would take. With the reduced prices direct from TTR / other travel providers, The Premier benefits were not worth the extra cost / uncertainity of making a deal with a owner. When we making arrangments, the most desireable flight times and prices were drying up, waned to get the deal done.

Did you end up renting a week? We are members, but have never tried to rent our weeks because it seems like it costs us about the same to use ours or get it from another site....I am just interested to find out if its adventageous to pursue. We have 4 weeks and will never use them all!

No, we decided to book through AlphaRooms this time. The cost was much less expensive for the all inclusive, granted we will not have the perks of a premier member. I will keep the renting of a timeshare on the front burner for future trips to TTR. If I had my way I would go multiple times a year, but the life priorities always get in the way ;)

We just use our weeks ourselves usually....lol, but I can't afford 3 trips a year so we always will have extras.
If anyone ever wants a week or two, give me a shout....we'd be more than happy to give you one. It's my understanding that I would have to book the room and the traveller has to sit through a sales pitch at the resort, but other than that it's smooth sailing. Never done it yet, so we're virgins to the whole ins and outs of it all. The membership perks while there are worth it IMO, we love it.:icon_biggrin:

Does anyone know where to find timeshare rentals for TTR? Specifically I am looking for one of the two bedroom/two bathroom rentals so two couples could share it. Any help/advice/etc would be greatly appreciated!

Do they have 2 bedroom / bathroom rooms? I think they have only the rooms with 1 bedroom / bathroom possibly with a joining door to another room.
