Crap! I can't find the thread where this was discussed! Do we have to pack pants and a button-down dress shirt for the nicer restaurants? And are closed toed soccer shoes sufficient or do we have to bring friggin' "dressy shoes"?! Would nice shorts and a polo work? REALLY do not want to pack "normal clothes" unless I'm forced to... LOL

Yes, pack the long pants. Pull-over collered shirt will be fine, does not have to be button down. Any closed toed shoe will suffice. Restaurants are awesome, definately worth the minimal effort. Have an awesome time. Sounds like you guys are a blast! It may be a little too soon, but Alpharooms have dropped prices on the off season. Just booked for under $400 for halloween week.
Have a great trip. Looking forward to reading about it when you return.... A little preasure for a trip report!

Jeans, kicks, and short sleeved polo is all you need.

I packed long pants our first year. Then got there and saw everybody wearing shorts and sandels to dinner with nice polo's and nice t-shirts. So since then i don't take pants and wear shorts every night to dinner and nobody has said anything to me. Even the nice places that take reservations haven't said anything.

Well this is good to know...long pants put a real crimp in packing when we only take carry on's. Has anyone else had the same luck with shorts and nice shirt and sandels?:whisper:

We pack 1 pair just in case. Hubby will try the shorts but if he has to change he will. Last thing you want to wear when it is hot is long pants.

I have tried 2 different times to sneak in to the "Fine Dining" places.

2 years ago I tried to get in wearing a very nice pair of dressy shorts...FAIL! Was sent packing back to the room to change.

Last year I was wearing kahaki pants and had nice leather sandals
and once again...FAIL! Had to go put on...wait for it, yep tennis shoes
with my kahakis to pass the test...silliness I tell you, silliness.

So I'm sayin' take a pair!

In November, Bryan wore shorts to all the restaurants with no issues. Usually with a nicer shirt.

Same thing happened to couple we were with. - Pants and closed toe shoes for the men only. They were pretty strict about it when we were there.
