Don't want to be "Debbie Downer" but I am asking all of you CCC forum members to say a special prayer for the victims of today's tragic event that took place in Boston. So many families were affected. I pray that it's done and there aren't any more bombs detonated ANYWHERE.

I fully endorse the use of the name "Debbie Downer"....it would be great to have it associated with something other than "...does Dallas".

    On a serious note....

it was really hard to be excited about express check-in and shopping and finding a perfect bathing suit for the Boobs Cruise today when the tv was showing such horrific pictures of this terror attack in Boston. We dealt with a daycare shooting up her just last week (luckily no children were hurt) and you never think its going to happen in your backyard.

I havent met any of you personally yet...i know you only by your screen names...but i couldnt help but think of those of you from the area who have been touched by this. I am so sorry, and i hope you are all ok!

My heart goes out to you all...we will be saying a prayer for you up here...god bless the lost and injured...and heaven help the victims and their families.

...and i hope the evil b#$@!$& that did this get whats coming to them.

    Deb xoxo

Thanks Deb. It really is such an awful, senseless tragedy. My son just informed me that he woke up late and was going to call in sick today to see his buddy run in the marathon. Grateful, Very Grateful he changed his mind!
Just came across the TV that they are calling this a definite act of terrorism. Thankful that they found the other two bombs before they were detonated.

Should be interesting in town tomorrow.. Thankfully my job is more than 15 blocks from the site. I used to always go to the marathon to cheer people on. But I would watch at Heartbreak Hill. Its a tough hill, so it's nice to encourage people to keep the fight up.
    Anyway
I had family and friends running.. Thankfully all are safe. Shaken, but safe. My little cousin didn't get to finish. Her brother and aunts were waiting at the finish line for her.. Not far from where everything happened. Again so happy they are accounted for.
I'm just floored this happened. Just sickens me.
Hoping who ever did this is found..
and justice is served.. They WILL find who did this.. So many camera's and CCTV's in that area. Just a matter of reviewing everything.
The pictures released really disturb me.. Makes me feel sick, and like its a matter of respect. These people were seriously injured, and people took pictures??? and posted them??? ugh. Just wrong.
    I dunno..
I just didn't need to see that. Nor does those peoples family and friends. Or them for that matter.

    Feeling Sick

Had several friends running in the Boston Marathon today. Happy to report that all are fine.

What a terrible tragedy. The Boston Marathon is the grand daddy of cool marathons and now it's just another piece of wholesome Americana that has been stolen from us by some sick people. So very sad. Prayers go out to all those effected. :icon_cry:

My brother in law ran it and he made is to 25.8 miles before they shut it down. He said "thank god I peed in newton- otherwise I would've been there exactly when it happened"

He's a firefighter and trained medic and they actually evacuated to his firehouse. He geared up and went back to help. He's amazing.

All of my friends and family are accounted for to the best of my knowledge. I lived in Boston for 7 years and Kevin is from Boston- all of hisw family still lives there.

My thoughts, concern and well wishes are with everyone affected. Such a terrible act. I've gone from angry to very sad. We've got to find a way to end these tragedies.
