Has anyone used RCI to book TTR? My dad said we could use his timeshare this year; but the RCI people have not been overly helpful or quick to respond ... we're new to this so would be grateful for any help. Thanks.
I took a look at using my RCI points at TTR and they'll do it but it's for the ROOM ONLY. It doesn't apply to the all inclusive costs. So for us it didn't work. Using our points in Breckenridge Colorado in July to hike and float the Colorado River.
With RCI u get access to the few rooms left that still have a partial kitchen. But as said above its room only. The AI is extra. Depending on the time of the year it's sometimes the same as getting a deal. I had an actual "timeshare" that was grandfathered in form the old plaza Los glorias ( the resort that used to be where the quiet pool is ) and the AI was $40 per day per person, then one year they doubled it to $80 so on top of the annual matinee fees they wanted $160 per double per night. I don't think I have ever paid that much since I canceled my timeshare.
We have booked 2 of our 5 trips through RCI. Their AI fees change by the season and is posted on the RCI website. You really have to do the math and add in the RCI exchange fees to see if it is worthwhile. We have lately gotten better deals through Alpharooms. Only advantage in booking through RCI is you are put in the Premier wing that overlooks the Sexy Pool. Paul
Do you really Paul?! Well that is interesting! I thought that area was reserved for premier members only?! It says on the RCI website that RCI guests aren't classed as Premier white band guests though, is this true once your there?? Kelly x
We have booked twice through RCI and have been in that section both times, have another friend that has also booked twice and been in the Premier wing as well. That is the only benefit we have received. We did not, nor did our friends get white bands or any of the perks that go along with them. Paul
That is why we got out of the timeshare world. They polish that turd up nice and shiny when they want you to buy into it then the polish comes off really quickly when you want to use your points.
If u want to be in the priemier wing you are probably better of renting from one off the members here on cc. Most of us have spare weeks and you will get all the white band perks as well.
