My wife and I are thinking about going to Temptation in june. We have been checking reviews and forums, and have noticed on some, that they talk about being members at the resort, and the difference that is made if you are not a member, or own one of the timeshares, or not interested in becoming one. We have read about guests that were harrassed, given poor service, or that certain areas were restricted or even closed to you if you were not a member or owner. Are guests really restricted from areas of the resort for this reason, and if so, what does that mean for us?? For the price of this place for 2 weeks, I would hate to pay that, then not be able to use the resort, or even parts of the beach or pools..I would like to hear feedback on this topic, so that we know what we are getting into..Thank You!!.

Tops shelf alcohol is off limits -

Some chairs, some beds - poolside and on the beach are off limits. They are in the best location and of higher quality as well.

Personalized "Premier" servers are off limits & Premier bar areas

There are a few other perks of Premier members, but nothing noticeable. The Guaranteed bed/lounge reservations/location is the best perk.

Upon check in, they will inquire when you would like to go to Breakfast. 8:30, 9:30, or 10:30am - We politely told them we were not sure when as we had no idea how late we would be up. They pressed for about 10-seconds, and we said "sorry, we will check back in with you later if we decide".

No pressure or sales pitch from that point forward.

95% of the rooms were booked by non-Premier members so they cater to us regular folk just fine.

Been at BBG/TTR 6 times and we are not going to buy in. Have been with others that were. After the 3rd trip, they seemed to remember us, both check in staff and entertainment.

The only thing not being premier, when I was going to sit with a friend in the premier area I was quickly removed no buts about it.

Otherwise never seen a difference being premier or not. we always get a good room and the service is top notch.

This year will be our 7th trip. We are not members, but we have friends who are. Last year they did not have the "premier" jacuzzi's open yet, so that would be the only 'pool' restriction. Honestly, we don't see that not being a member changes your service or experience.

ok...so we don't get 'top shelf' - bring your own if you want it that bad
ok...so we don't get 'certain spots on the beach' - we stay in the pool most of the time anyway - that's where the party is...:bootyshake:

ok...so we don't get 'premier' servers - the walk through the water to the bar is when I get my cardio in anyways - or I send Jeff so he can burn a few calories ;)

I guess what I am trying to say - for what you DO get at TTR...all the other is not as important. It's about the fun and friends. If you are planning for June - I have NO doubt that all of that other stuff is unimportant because soo many fun people will be there! :aktion025:

As typoexpress said - we always get great service, clean rooms and AMAZING memories. :mnm:

And as far as being hassled - politely say 'no thank you' and walk away...they won't bother you if you don't seem interested. :icon_lol:

I wouldn't worry too much about the extra perks that members get. Most of the member benefits are negligible and not something that is going to make or break your vacation.

The areas that non-members are restricted from tend to be places most members dont go to either, because they are more interested in having a fun time with the rest of the crowd.

Buying in as a member suits some but not all. 90-95% of people who visit TTR are not members and have a great time regardless.
