I have been talking with several people, and I think I am going to start my own celeb gossip website. Update it 4-10 times a day with breaking celeb news and stuff like that. And since its a hollywood/celeb site, have ads to buy Star maps, hollywood tours, hotels, vip tours, clubs, tshirts, ect................ also with a forum to discuss celebs and hollywood stuff. My question is................. do you think it could work?? I have no problem with devoting the time and energy to design and get a good website running, I have several great friends that are willing to help, I just want to know what you all think? Most gossip sites only do gossip and dont really offer anything other than that...............mine will offer hollywood trips, deals, ect....................... your thoughts?
I also think this ship has sailed... too much work for whatever minimal profit you could make. The other sites are established and have a certain brand recognition.
tmz.com and perezhilton, thats about it! Niether offer anything other than gossip. Well, you can get shirts and stuff like that, but nothing like message forums, hollywood trips, ect................ but, I appreciate your input!
i agree. saturation of the market for sure. theres one that that i read on a daily basis. and two others that i browse and trust me. one mistake and the legal eagles are on your ass faster than you can say what... i think it would be pretty hard to get people to sway from what they already know. esp if youre not as fast at updating your site as the others

true! I have some leway on what I want to do, that list you listed, never even heard of most of them! Not to say they dont get traffic. Any news I post will be the news, and not "rumors", thats where you get in trouble. Anyways, still an idea, I am brainstorming, but Im leaning more towards a travel/gossip site!!
its not even the gossip that will cause you the problems. if you dont source your news, or you dont sourse your photos. or you take the photos with out permission..it happens frequently and really people want the gossip thats why sites like perez and dlisted lainey and tmz and x17 are so popular cause they also post rumours as well...
very true apple, very true! Not that hard sourcing your stuff, I have no problem giving credit where credit is due for articles and photos!! Would be some work involved, but its fun to me, and I seem to have several people that think it could eventually make some good $! We will see, still brainstorming, but I appreciate all your comments!
