Our trip is coming up on the 14th and I am bringing cash for tips but in case I need to pull more, is there an ATM near the resort that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg to pull money? I bank with Chase if it matters. Thanks!!

There are atm’s but it’s best if you try and bring enough, it will save your peace of mind

We figure $100 a day cash average and use our credit card/debit card when possible. We usually come home with cash to spare.

There have been some issues with fraud using ATM's in Cancun in the past, I totally agree bring enough so you don't have to worry.

Bring lots of $1s and $5s. Don’t get cash in Cancun,

There in ATM in the store accross the street. But it is stupid expensive. Needed cash last year. Was something like 25-30 USD to use. There a flat fee plus a percentage of the transaction.

This is definitely the thing to do, we also tried to just get a fifty turned into more $1s and 5s at TTR and it was like pulling teeth.

Wow. Thanks everyone for the advice. I’ll just make sure I have more than what I need.

We started bringing 2 and 5 dollar bills for tipping. Most of the time we tip more than a buck at a time so the $2 worked great!

If you need to break a big bill while at TTR go to the bartenders not the front desk. They have always been more than willing to help me out.
