Got bite at night around the quiet pool bar in April last year (ankles and legs ),, really small black flies, takes 2 weeks to heal. Thats about the only place or time that I can recall. The bees around the bar can a nuisance. Odd mosquito , here and there.
I gotta tell y'all, I've never noticed any sand fleas biting me, ever. I don't "do anything" about them other than to put on the sunscreen, and I don't get bothered at all. I'd wonder if they exist and you guys aren't making them up except Stacia got bitten a few times a few trips ago.
Thanks everyone. If they are there they will surely find me. I must be sweet and tasty because the bugs love me!!
Try the internal repellent. Saturate yourself with a tequilla/vodka mixture. Seriously though I think girls are sweeter and tastier since Barbys always getting bites and not me.
Sand fleas have found me all four trips, I have to bring bug spray and found I even needed it on my ass sitting on the beach chairs and beds around the resort at night. If bugs love you other places, they will love you at TTR as well. My husband has never been bitten at TTR, but the loved me ... If I walk in the sand at night, I need to put bug spray all over my legs and ankles - seems to be more of a night thing for me (walking in the sand in the daylight doesn't seem to be a problem). But I've been there 4 times, and come back with lots of bites each time - last time was only on my ass and upper thigh from sitting on the chair and bed the last night we were there, didn't use bug spray - learned a huge lesson - always use the bug spray on the legs and ass, every night, no matter what!! Then all ok!
That is what happens to me, I get bit through the lawn chairs. They seem to like my ass and back of my legs as well. I will be sure to bring lts of bug spray!! Thanks
Although I've never had a problem, my wife has been bitten at night when walking along the beach after dinner.
