I am worried that my dreaded Aunt Flo may show up during the last few days of our trip. Any suggestions on how to postpone this monthly visit? I was considering starting the birth control pill but hate the hormones from it...

I use depo, I don't feel the hormones, and never get my Aunt Flo! Don't know if it would work for you or not!
I did depo for like 10 yrs. Have had IUD for 6 yrs now. LOVE it! NO MO FLO! No other side effects.......good luck! Also it's a one time dr's visit. Last for 5 yrs.
So glad I had the hysterectomy 4 years ago - completely changed my life not to worry about that anymore!! Honestly, other than hormones, there is no way to prevent sleeping in the red tent ...
I know you can go to your doctor and tell him your going on vacation and don't wait "your friend" to show up..trust me, they have been asked before.....he can give a perscription of Progesterone.. you take a high dose and it will keep your friend away. You can take for 10 days and when your finished she will come. We just got back, and this is the second time i got this perscription for vacation...i decided not to take this time...and right in the middle of our lovely trip, BAM!! If i could rewind...i would of taken it, cause it sure does SUCK!!!!lol
Does the progesterone cause hormonal side effects? Do you have to take it before it starts? Lots of questions...I know. I am at the point to just take the gamble bc I could never handle pills (I have enough hormones as it is!), and my hubby got snipped so it is never a worry...
Also, does anyone know if the progesterone prevents you from getting pregnant? Great thread...I was literally thinking about this today and was thinking about starting a thread but was scared it would be too 'funky' to discuss here. LOL ~Jill~
