We just booked our trip to Temptations for Feb23-March 2. WOO HOO!! We went through a travel agent who was able to give us the same price as the cheapest online deal we could find. We were not able to choose the type of room though (neither online, or through the TA..we're not interested in a jacuzzi room). Our question for all of you who have been to Temptations before is...how much extra is if for an oceanview room, how do you get one, and is it worth the extra money?? As well, on our booking we had requested a King bed vs 2 doubles, although the TA stated that they couldn't guarantee this. Do most rooms have a King? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Stacy and Tony
The ocean view room though sounds great, depends on what you plan on doing, as a multiple repeater I know in advance that the morning and afternoon and until 4 or 5pm is spent by the sexy pool, then to the room to shower and change for dinner , then after dinner its to the patio bar and drinks or the disco , or out with the resort staff to the clubs, then home by 4am or so and back at the sexy pool by 9am... so the moral of my story is , A lot of time is not spent in your room, except for obvious reasons, So maybe not worth spending the extra money and just negotiating where they have your room, as you can always make requests to move around to get the room you like best... just an opinion.. Have a great time
Most rooms are king. As for Ocean View, remember also that in Cancun if you ca plant one foot anywhere on the balcony and lean far enough out to see even a glimpse of water then it counts as an Ocean view. Best bet it to check in and see what type of room you get. If you don't like the room you get head back to the front desk and ask for a change. At worst, unless they are totally sold out, they can move you either right way or the next day. The only rooms that you don't have a possibility of getting are the suites overlooking the beach in Building 2 and rooms in Building 3.. and you never know about building 3. So relax and see what you can come up with when you get there. Jamie
If they have the availability and you request a different room, will they upgrade you for free? For instance, if we get there and find they've given us a Garden View room (I think that's what we paid for) and we want an Ocean View instead, will they automatically give it to us at no extra charge if they have one available? And, if so, can we just get them to do that for us at check-in, or do we need to go to the room first, pretend we don't like it, and then go back down and ask to switch? Also, if we do get an upgrade, which rooms would you veterans recommend as the "best"? Is it better to be on ground level or up-high? Which rooms are near places that might be loud at night or in the mornings? Which have the easiest access to the pools? Which have the best views? Etc...
Thank you all for your replies. Sounds like a plan...we'll see what we get and go from there. Save some money for the outings!!
You never know what you have till you get to your room in the first place. They might have upgraded you already. That's why we say go see it first and then change if it's not what you'd like. Jamie
