If original resorts would fill their properties with people willing to quarantine on premises, you think there is enough people out there? Take a COVID-19 screening upon showing up and pay a long term rate. I’m at about 40 days in self quarantine, at this point I’d find a way into Mexico to do it.
I like the way you think. Great idea, my liver and I are all in. My waist line maybe not so much. What a blast it would be for everyone.
If we end up losing our June-July DRM trip... I'd be down with something like that. Definitely will be if the Greek Islands cruise doesn't go off... and it's not looking at all good for that right now.
Quarantine means you stay inside your room.... and don’t leave. How do you plan on doing this at the resort?
The meaning is more general than that. The room wouldn't be the confinement zone, the resort would. Since all people entering are screened, the resort is the inverse of a containment region. I guess you could call it a confidence region or exclusion region
My concern would be that there are still lots of staff working, doing general clean up and maintenance. They will be going back and forth every day, so I don't think there could be much confidence that a virus-free zone could be guaranteed. On a related note, Patric invited us to the "Social Distancing Glow Night Party" in the Sky Bar that they are streaming tomorrow night. We'd love to go after being largely stuck in the house for a couple of weeks but have had to decline. Police have roadblocks or checkpoints along the main roads. I can just imagine us returning home at 2 am with me drunk (Jannet always drives and doesn't drink) and getting stopped by the guys below. There is so little traffic and nothing open, I am sure they stop every vehicle they see. Straight off to jail for a few days for unnecessary travel after dark.
