Last summer we took pictures at Playa Delfines in Cancun for 1 hr with Lidia. We paid $250 for the session but received our CD with all rights with over good 300 photos from session. My beach shots for the Miss Temptation contest were taken by Antonio Andrade, who has an "office" in the main hallway of the resort (see my album on my profile page). He's a sweetie, and very easy to work with. I paid $10 per photo for the photos I selected after a 1-hr shoot, on disc only, no prints (but I think they are printing quality resolution). They have a variety of packages you can buy...just depends what you want to spend, and like everything in Mexico, you can bargain! Tell Antonio that Karen sent you! :wink3:

Hi Karen, I was just following up on the Professional Pics thread. You mentioned that the guy in the main hall at TTR did your MS TTR pics, and I was wondering how many you got, total? At $10/ea., that's not too bad if you are after just a few, print-able pics, but what if you just want the "Pro's Eye" on the target and have them rip through about an hour? Do you think the other lady (Lydia?) would be a better bet? If the pics are in the 8Mp and up resolution range, you can get them printed for 8" x 10" easily, and perhaps larger. I've got a blank wall space just waiting for a FatHead of Stacia in her Wicked Weasel on the beach, just saying... When's your Ms. TTR thing in January?
Can't add photos but on her FB we are the 2nd and 3rd photo after the bride w red shoes. Lidia had a combo of sepia/traditional and black and white photos. She was willing to meet us where we wanted. We picked Playa Delphines upon her suggestion of a great public place to meet her as we would have had to pay her way into our resort. I'd love some photos in a cenote next time. But if more risque photos are in your mind, I'd pay to meet her somewhere. Our photos were very high quality. We printed some 20 by 30 photos for our walls.
John, I can't comment on Lydia, as I haven't heard anything about her other than Chango's post since she is not the "sanctioned" resort photographer. But she sounds great. Antonio has a partner, Marianna, that you can alternatively book with. Ask to see examples of both of their shots before you decide. Antonio approached me about shooting some pictures on my first trip to TTR, so I didn't consider Marianna or look at her work. I told Antonio when I booked that I just needed a handful of shots for the online competition, but he went ahead and did an hour-long photo shoot because they want to sell you as many photos as possible (of course). I didn't pay for the shoot itself, just the pictures I chose. I bought 8 photos I believe. If you took 10, you got I think 12 for the price of 10, but I didn't need that many. It's not like I am going to put bikini shots of myself on my piano next to my son's baby pictures! I just needed a few photos I could upload to the Internet. Antonio asked me if I wanted to shoot in Nice Shoes...I gather they will do more risque shots there, i.e., full nudity or Lingerie, so if you want those kind of shots too, you can get them in the same shoot. They will offer you a big package price which is probably a good deal, and I could see doing that with a couples session or with friends. Just negotiate your way to what you want. As for Miss T, the past couple of years it ran the third week in January (it usually starts around the 15th). January 14th is a Monday this year, so I'm guessing that if they have a finale, it will be that week. I think the "crowning" happens on the Thursday (but not positive about that), so I'm guessing that perhaps the girls all arrive on the weekend before. I am just piecing together information from past trip reviews for Miss T week. Hope you are thinking about coming down to cheer for Sam and I! :clappyinghappy:

Robbery....LOL. You guys just need to go when a photographer is vacationing there! I'm bringing my pro gear and doing lots of favors for people on a donation basis. We're even putting together a June Junkies calender when all said and done for the spouses. I just can't get over the prices they charge, sorry, no one in the states does business that way, per shot price of what you choose! Anyways, will be there June 7-19th, and anyone is willing to use my skills, as I love to shoot! Ed
