OK...so here is the deal. We have round trip airport transfers included in our package, however...1. We hate waiting for the van to fill up. 2. I don't feel like stopping at 4 resorts before we get to ours. 3. We want to go to Wal Mart to get some red bull, extra water, etc. for our room.

We know once we get to the resort we will not want to leave to go get a cab and go to Wal-Mart. LOL

So a private transfer is 55.00 round trip plus an extra 30.00 to stop at wal-mart.

Has anyone ever done this? Is it worth it?

The private transfer is so worth it! We'd never take a combined shuttle with 12 resort stops. The $30 stop charge at Walmart is expensive though. I guess it depends on what your priority is. We checked in, dropped our bags in the room and went out and took the R2 bus to Walmart. I think round trip for the two of us was just over $2 USD and it took less than 45 minutes with 30 of those minutes being inside Walmart shopping.

    Either way, have fun!

With USA Transfers the $30 would be for an hours stop at Walmart.

If you just want to stop for 5 minutes at a convenience store and grab a few things the driver wont normally mind, would be nice to give him a little extra tip if he does though.

I don't think the $30 charge (for an hour) is that bad...especially if you are getting heavier items (like cases of beer etc). If you have a lot of groceries, it's impossible to take the bus home, and a cab ride home to the HZ can run $15 - $25US dollars (depending where you are staying)...plus tip. So, IMHO, it is worth the $30 charge.

Our first trip to Cancun we were through customs and out to the bus in record time and then waited an hour for everyone else to get to the bus. Then we waited while the dropped everyone else off first (Temptations is basically the last stop).

Ever since then we've paid the extra money for USA Transfers. It's worth it. Especially if you're sharing the cost among a few other people.

We've never had any issues. They've always been on time and even going home we've found that we would beat the rush of the people getting off the buses.

We decided to go with the private transfer but did not reserve the Wal-Mart stop. I do not need an hour. Hopefully the driver will not mind stopping somewhere real quick so we can just grab the 3 things we want really fast. Hopefully a good tip will make that happen. Don't want to waste 2.5 hours of my trip waiting on vans of people.

That is what happened to us the last time. We got out first (since we go to Mexico all the time and know the drill) and then sat for about 45 minutes waiting on everyone. Then everyone in the van had their kids. ARGH This is our time away from kids. LOL I just want to get off the plane, get to my car, stop for a couple things and get to my room as fast as possible.

We use TransBeach a Desire/TTR/ Original By Premier Company we pay about 89$ round trip we dont wait for anybody at the airport. As soon as we get to our driver he takes us to the resort we have ask to stop at OXXO(little store) at no aditional charge. And its nice to get to the place you really want to be at. Its really worth it for us.

We have used USA Transfers the last 3 times. 100% worth it. It doesn't matter after realizing that our resort is at the end of the line as for transfer drop offs and pick ups, they just SUCK. USA is always prompt, curtious and very friendly. The last time, last June I think it was within 5 minutes from walking out of the airport we were on our way to the resort and at the resort in less then an hour from landing. Our previous transfers with Funjet and Expedia were all shared and we were always in the van or bus for nearly an hour after waiting for the van or bus to fill up.

    USA Transfers everytime!

We use them everytime and book it right thru the link on here. One time during the swine flu our flights were cancelled, then we were put on new ones, got to Cancun 6 hours late and on a totally different flight number coming in from a totally different airport. We were amazed that when we landed USA was standing out front holding a sign with our name on it. We are now customers for life
