Prescription Medication

What are the procedures for getting prescription medication and vitamins into Mexico? I figured I'd be fine if I had them in the original bottle, but I'm reading online that a doctor's note may be required. We've only been on cruises to Mexico, so this question has never came up.

Not sure if this will be helpful or not, but a friend told me that those magical blue diamond-shaped pills are available without a prescription at the little pharmacy across the street from TTR

 

Lol.... I’m talking actual medications, not performance enhancers..

 

If they are prescription medications, don’t you have the doctors prescription???

 

No, they were sent to the pharmacy electronically. I have the bottles with my name on them.

 

Have never had an issue. But have always had original bottles / prescriptionswith my name on it just in case. As a type 1 diabetic this includes syringes yet no issue ever.

 

Thanks for the info. I figured having the original prescription bottles with my name on them would be okay, just curious if I need a letter also...

 

I don’t thik you will have any problems
We went to TTR 2 weeks ago and travelled with lots (and I mean at least 15 different medications) without name and without a prescription

 

Perhaps you being a doctor allows for you to have permission that others don't
