Hi all I bought a prepaid sim-card for my Iphone 4 and since discovered that my phone is carrier locked and doesn't allow the use of third party sim-cards. If any one that will be at TTR 20th to 27th and has an unlocked cell would like this you are welcomed to have it FREE !

When do you leave for Mexico? I have an unlocked? BB torch GSM that you could slide it into and have no issues making calls and sending and receiving texts and emails. Let me know what you think and I can send it out. No charge. I used to work for rim and got cut last summer in the big layoffs.

For others out there you may try Brightroam sim cards
    Your phone must be unlocked

If your phone is under contract - Call your provider and let them know you will be traveling abroad and corporate policy requires that you use a country SIM. You've received the SIM and require support to enable it on your phone. They will provide the unlock code.

If you own your phone - Call the carrier who issued the phone and ask for the unlock code.

I have an unlocked 3gs. Is it possible to buy a "Mexico Simm" that will be cheaper to use data for email. Can I buy them in Canada? If not is there any where around the resort I can pick one up?

Problem solved. Phone is on its way. just slip the sim in and you will be set. Just don't let the incoming calls, texts and emails ruin your vacation:icon_smile:

We can't thank you enough!! Normally we would never want to keep in touch while on vacation but our six year old will be staying with grandparents and although he is a smart little boy he isn't up to sending email just yet so we would like to be able to talk to him every day. With this sim card It has a local mexico phone number and free in coming calls. It's just amazing how many really nice people are part of this web site witch makes us even more excided to get there and meet some of you !!
    Thanks again !!

I've seen them up on ebay... but I'm guessing at your own risk.

You can buy them at any cell or most convenience stores when you get there.
