We are frequent Temptationers and had been to Miches. We are not Premier members.

Heading to RM next year for the first time. Have the opportunity to book as a referral. What does Premier actually get you that booking direct doesn’t? I found a great price with Right Connections Travel ($1,000 less per week) but wondering if booking via the referral is better? We don’t drink top shelf liquor and not sure we would utilize a butler.

Also, we go to these resorts at least 1-2x per year, is a membership for ourselves worthwhile? It all seems very confusing.

We have visited all 3 resorts more than a few times and we are still not Premier members. That said, we have noticed things change over the years for non-members. There have been fewer and fewer places to sit at the pool, beach and at the main area (Bash, Melange) We don't care much about top-shelf liquor or fancy menu items.

We went on a referral in 2021. We got the fancy towels, the better seating area and that was about it. Our butler really do anything for us (didn't book us reservations or save us pool seating) Also, he was hard to reach as he didn't return texts/calls in a timely manner, so that was a waste of time.

We did not like the membership "presentation" or sales pitch meeting. At Desire it wasn't so bad, but at Temptation it was awful. We almost left the resort early because of it.

If you are considering the membership, keep in mind that there are members who can add you to their plan as a beneficiary. It's like being a member, but not having to pay for the whole membership.

Beneficiary is the way to go without having to pay full price on a contract and getting those benefits. We are beneficiaries on one contract and also own another.

Members don't have many added benefits at DRM. We do get breakfast in the new restaurant and have priority of pool chairs and beds. But non members usually don't have issues getting them. At DRM so guest get the same alcohol. I also have a contact that can add a referral even if you book else where but she also gets killer deals on flight room combos and can usually beat what you can find online.

Now we became beneficiaries ourselves because it made sense for us. We bought 300 nights for 15k. That gets us discounts at all three resorts. TTR DRM and Pearl. We have access to the penthouse and below at TTR all flat rate. And DRM we have Villa and passion suite at flat rate and everything lower tier rooms at a discount. And Pearl have some flat rate times and discounts there as well. Even access to the mansion.
We have already saved more money then we spent on our contact with our first four trips. And still have 261 discounted nights.
Last I know this person still has two spots left as well. Feel free to DM me if you want any more info.

"Official" Premier Perks from the website copied below. Generally, if you don't care about the alcohol or butler, the perks are not much different than booking in the tower directly. If you are a member, but not staying in the tower, you have much more perks than you would otherwise.

    Temptation Cancun Premier Benefits
    • Check in-out at members lounge
      Welcome courtesy towel
    • Members black band
    • Butler service
    • Concierge Premier

    • Exclusive beach cabanas & chairs at pool areas
    • Exclusive bar at beach & pool areas
    • Premium drink selection
    • Preferential reservations at restaurants
    • Exclusive Members dinner
    • One lobster or steak dinner at Premier's dinner - No minimum stays require
    • Premier beach party
    • Exclusive menu at specialities restaurants
    • Free access to sauna and wet areas for 20 minutes
    • Access to roof top no charge

For anyone on the fence, I also recommend find a member who can sell you a small number of nights as beneficiary. If you can buy 10 or 15 nights that you already have plans to use in the next year or two, it's a very low cost way to see what being a member is all about. PM me if you want any more details of what my contract offers beneficiaries.

    Newbie question:
What is the cost per night to be added as a Beneficiary? Do you get the same discount/benefits as the person who's membership you are joining as a Beneficiary?
We want to get a Junior or Master Suite at Pearl.

Thanks all for the great info! Being first-timers to Desire RM (we leave in a few days!!), we're not members, so the above was very helpful to distinguish the differences. We want to make the most of it, so we've been doing research, but still have a few questions.

A couple gripes we saw were the pretty standard headaches you see at resorts, such as difficulty getting pool chairs and making dinner reservations. We've seen some conflicting info on these two issues, so curious if with the expansion, these are still a problem? Also, if you're not a member, can you add-on butler service? Given one comment above, it seems like it may not be worth it, but still curious.

Thanks again for laying that out, can't wait to experience it for ourselves!

Bring premier you always get a butler. And we just use WhatsApp to message them where we want dinner.

As for pool chais ours get reserved. We just have to make it out before 10:30 am. Otherwise they release the ones they were holding for us to non members.
At least that's how it is as RM we have not been to Pearl.
