I asked for rates for our upcoming trip. I also asked for referral rates. Our rate is $344 a night in May for all rooms under the MS. We were quoted $1700 for our dates in a jacuzzi room. The referral quote was $1400 for a garden room. Yes, I know I am comparing a jacuzzi room to a garden room, but it makes no difference since our daily rate is $344 regardless to the room we pick. How can this be? Am I missing something here?
referral rate is usually the rack rate minus whatever percentage stated in your contract. Your Referrals don’t get the members rate.
Yea, I know they don't get member rates. But, what I am saying is, I'll be paying more for our stay than a referral will. Even if I stay in a garden room, because our rate is the same no matter which room we pick. Of course I would not choose a garden room since the price is the same as jacuzzi, but I am fine with a garden room if it meant saving money. This just does not make sense to me. So, essentially our total cost would be $1700 if we picked a garden room, lush, jacuzzi or ocean view and our referral is $1400 for garden.
