Where is the best place to get a pre-paid sim card once we land in Cancun? Does anyone have a preferred type? Like to have some data available also

I found the best is when I buy a 200 minute Mexico package through my provider. I use an I phone so cards aren't easy to use.

A bent staple can get it out for you (sorry I'm in the industry), but I have no idea who to go with down there. I'm on vacation, my phone stays in the safe. My problems can wait until I get back to Canada.

We tried the sim card route on our last trip down, but the phone was not unlocked correctly, so it would not work.

For 23 dollars, we bought the cheapest pre-paid phone TelCel had (it looked more like a remote control than a phone) It came with 300 minutes.

The only thing that concerned me a bit, is that they needed a lot of personal details to setup the account. Not to sure I like the idea of my billing info floating around in a Mexican database, but that's why I have identify theft insurance.

Our normal cell company didn't have a decent international plan, so it was a good way to keep in touch with the rest of our group for not a lot of pesos.
