Does anyone know a good butcher in Cancun? I'm in the mood for some pork chops or a roast loin, but want it with the fat on for crackling and all the ones in the shops have no fat that I've seen?

Not sure about who may have it, but I have had best luck with the guys at the Mega by Costco for asking for special stuff that isn't in the cases. They really are helpful and will cut what I ask them.

Thanks for that - I went in the other day and was really impressed as well, they had some lovely steaks and stuff there. I'll give them a try!

They cut me a beautiful TBone for the grill.

Costco for sure. I am lucky that I get to eat a lot of what Cancun Fun buys and prepares. Hint hint.

Hey TJ, I've never seen them in Costco with the fat on for roasting? Have you seen them prepacked for sale or do you mean ask the butcher there?

I think the Mega might be a better option, an a smaller piece is probably available as well.

I'll have a look at Costco again for sure though.

Costco has the most $$ meat in Cancun...it looks really good but I am not paying 600 pesos for 2 steaks!

Yeah those steaks do look really good!!! I can't wouldn't pay those prices either though!

The rotisserie chickens they have there are really tasty! So much nicer than the Walmart ones (that have a somewhat 'farty' smell about them).

I know what you mean about the Wal Mart Chicken...something definitely weird about it. I like the the Costco one for salads and wraps.

Been looking for pork shoulder with the skin on for months and to no avail even been to the main pork producers norson and they can not get meat with the skin still on they only way of getting it is to drive out to a farm that breeds pigs and see if he will cut one up for you while you wait if you can handle that. Soriana do a great pork shoulder in a bag with out fat or skin works out around 68 pesos a kilo. As for steak we have the best steak here in Sonora might look into shipping it if any one is interested.
