Poor old polar bears!

    so the US government commisions a study to see if polar bears should be protected due to melting ice caps, yet they are reluctant to do anything about carbon emissions and climate change.

    backwards or what!!!

    not necessarily. if it were the other way around--setting severe standards for carbon emmissions and global climate first, before deciding to protect the polar bears--there would be no difference in their immediate situation. It's not just about stopping the warming trend, but reversing it, and such a thing would take decades if not centuries.

    yeah, and the US is the only country polluting the Earth.

    No of course not.

    And now that China has been convinced to go capitalist, but hasn't got an effective EPA like the usa used to have, the pollutants it's pumping into the atmosphere drift across the Pacific then rain down on California Oregon and Washington.

    What to do, what to do.
