The International Women's Club of Cancun will be holding our annual book sale in early March. We are asking for book donations. All proceeds will benefit charity; this club gives 100% of the money we raise to charity! This year we are supporting several great charities including an orphanage (La Casita), a charity that supports children with disabilities (Pro Niños) and a hospice which helps people with terminal illnesses live their last days with dignity (Cafarnaum at Ciudad de la Alegría). If you have books in Spanish or in English that you would like to donate please contact me. Any books that do not sell will be donated to a local library. Thanks bunches for your support!!! I will try and get some books together before I leave. Does it matter what kind of genre , I think my dad has alot of westerns or does it matter?
Charles, Novels will sell better than say old moldy textbooks about basket weaving. This is a fundraiser so we don't want boring crappy books, but like I said whatever is not sold will be donated to a library (who can then decide what to keep). Thanks for the help!
Ok , I can get some romance books also. Do you think I will have any problems with our friends at customs?
I can't speak for Customs, they do have rules about how many books one can bring in but I don't know the numbers. If the books look used then I would think it's no big deal. My daughter usually lugs 30 or 40 books back and forth in her suitcase (the curse of raising a brainy kid) and she's never had a problem with Customs.

I'm just bumping this. I think the book sale was pushed into April. So there's a bit more time for ya'll to cough up all those trashy romance novels that I know you read.

Please PM me! All funds raised will go to our 2008 charities which include PAIPID A.C. and Pro Niños Excepcionales A.C. The IWC is a registered Mexican non-profit and we give 100% of the money we raise to charity. PAIPID provides residential hospice services at the Ciudad de la Alegría, many of their patients suffer from AIDS. Pro Niños Excepcionales A.C. provides support for children with autism, Down’s syndrome and other disabilities.
