TRIP REPORT ~ DAY 4 SUNDAY A few things I forgot to mention ... Food: One of the Star Friends from the entertainment team joined Norb and I for lunch one day. She told us she was there for five months for an internship for school. I asked her what she thought of the food, and she said all she eats is french fries and bread, because she didn't like anything else! Five months of french fries and bread! :shock: Bug bites: As soon as we settled in at the Iberostar Quetzal Norb started getting some kind of bug bites. We had to buy calamine lotion when we went into Playa. At last count he had 17 very itchy bites. Sheila had 10, Mike had 3, and I had one.(I'm definitely not as sweet as the others :wink: ). We saw many people around the pool with red welts all over their legs, so we were not the only ones getting eaten alive. Internet: There were two coin operated computers off the lobby, it cost 20 pesos for 15 minutes. A few times the computer "ate" my pesos. Mini bar: We had a mini bar in our room. It had cans of Coke, Coke Light, Fanta, and Sprite. Also, bottles of water and Superior beer. Maintenance: When we arrived and got our room, our closet door was off the track. Norb and I tried and tried to lift the door and fix it, but we couldn't get it back on it's track. We couldn't get into our safe until we were able to slide the door. I called maintenance, and a man arrived in minutes and fixed the door. The following day we had a problem with our commode, again I called maintenance, and a man arrived within minutes and fixed it. Kudos to the maintenance man! Now back to our regularly scheduled program ... SUNDAY We were up at 7, and got ready for the day. Norb on our balcony ... Good morning ... Had breakfast (well, you know how that's been going :cry: ) Went outside to lounge, read, swim, roast and toast in the sun. He just loves to read novels ... Grilling fish on the beach ... Fishies with their heads attached ... Drinks ... and more drinks ... The view from my chair ... Nice pool ... Beautful beach ... We stayed outside until 3, it was so sunny and hot today. :sunny: Went in to shower and dress for dinner. We met Sheila and Mike in the lobby, we got a taxi and headed to 5th Avenue. Babe's ... here we come! :clap: Norb and I ordered mojitos, Sheila had a lemonade with mint ... YAHOO! We're at Babe's! Crab rolls ... I had Pad Thai noodles and Norb had Swedish meatballs ... We walked on 5th Avenue, shopped, then sat and enjoyed a Starbucks. At 9:30 we got a taxi back to the hotel. Norb and I wanted to see the Las Vegas show tonight, and Mike and Sheila had to get some sleep. They were leaving very early in the morning. :cry: We said "goodnight and goodbye" to them in the lobby, then we went to the theater to watch the show. i didn't see where you said you tried the grilled fish. i would have gone for it...nothing like fish cooked right on the beach! great pool pics...looks like the resort is great for atmosphere and service...and poor to abysmal on cuisine!
