If you are not watching the Tigres games, you are missing a phenomenon- pitcher Bobby Cramer, from the USA, who now has 9 wins, and 99 strikeouts on the season! He pitched the Tigres into first place, last night, here in Cancun, with a 4-3 win over the Petroleos de Minatitlan. They are now 14-8. They meet again, tonight, game time 6 PM, after which the Tigres go on the road- so get out, tonight, if you can, and cheer our team on to another win.
i didnt relize there was a game last nite..going to try and make it tonight for sure do you have the schedule for the rest of the season? if so can you post it? thanks !
pretty strange career Researched this guy online and it looks like he had a promising career going and then dissapeared for 3 seasons. He then resurfaced with the Oakland Athletic's and was positioned to do well and now he is in Cancun which from is really baseball purgatory for those that are trying to make the majors. I hope he continues to do well and I do miss the games in Cancun.
Thanks, johndish, for those extra details about Bobby Cramer. For those who'd like to know the dates and times of the Tigres' games, click on- TIGRES DE QUINTANA ROO :: SITIO OFICIAL :: TEMPORADA 2010 then, "Calendario", in the website, top of page. That will give you who's playing, where, and when. For the game start times, which vary, you'll have to click on "Proximo juego", just below the place where you found, "Calendario". Using other selections in that same part of the webpage, you can also learn who is expected to pitch, each time.
V It's great to have the Tigres in Cancun and it's a wonderful evening. I'm sure I will get some disagreement, however the level that the Tigres play would be comparative to High A or Double A ball. Bobby Cramer has been around the Minors for almost nine years. I hope he does well along with the Tigres. A little tough to call him phenomen. Let's hope people continue to go to the games and support both the Tigres and Bobby Cramer when he pitches.
That's all true, SCMcons, and no one will think they're watching a major leagues baseball game when they're in "Tigres Stadium" but, as you said, it's a lot of fun, anyway. Now and then you see an amazing play, like last night when one of Tigres' catchers, Cordova, threw out a player who was trying to steal second. That's a long throw, and he nailed it. One thing I noticed, watching these games, is that the teams tend to change pitchers, frequently. Cramer's accounted for about 40% of the Tigres' wins, this season, so that may mean he's good enough, long enough, to stay in the games and get the wins. There was another pitcher in the game last night, after the starting pitcher, Ortega, was pulled. His name is Huerta. He looked pretty good while he lasted- just about three innings.
Wow! Bobby Cramer pitched nine innings, last night, striking out nine and giving up just one walk, to lead the Tigres to a 3-0 win over the Yucatan Leones. This win was his tenth of the season, and his third complete game. He now leads the Mexican League with 110 strikeouts. Just one more reason to get out and enjoy the games! Game is scheduled for 7 PM, tonight.
Pitching Know what you mean, Gonzo, but the Tigres also need a couple more like him: they can't seem to win often enough to stay in first place in their division. They are now three games "out", behind Campeche and Puebla, among the "southern zone" teams. TIGRES DE QUINTANA ROO :: SITIO OFICIAL :: TEMPORADA 2010 Hope these rainy skies move on out of here: tonight (Sunday) is the last home game until July 6. Game starts at 5 PM, today, which may mean they've got a double-header in mind, perhaps to make up for the game rained out, last night.
