I was lucky enough to have been able to attend last nights final game at the stadium. the entire day was awsome and they did a great job with the farewell, it was perfect. here are a few pics from last nite....... Batting Practice The Captain Original banner they put up the first year the stadium opened The captain's speech
and last but not least......... pic of my ticket stub and the piece of my seat. I had to break it of so you could see the seat number. I would have taken more but there were cops EVERYWHERE!!!! there was no chance of getting away with anything bigger then this. so.....I stole a piece of history and can proudly say I was at the stadium for its last game!!!!!!
saw the pics on myspace man, they are awesome.....gotta love that seat pic too. What a number to get as well
Very cool!! I am a cubs fan as most of you know, but YS has always been bigger than life, and I for one am sad to see it go as I love the history of baseball. VERY happy to see you made it to the last game ever played there, history for sure!
Seems you got lucky.......... others who stole...not so much! http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3603914
thats stupid....they are getting rid of the place so why not let the people who made the place what it is take a piece of it?
well fletch if they said.....sure, take what you want, can you imagine how UNSAFE that place would have been? I wouldnt have a problem with them auctioning stuff off for charity.
That's one reason. The other reason, as it always is, money. The will probably be able to auction off every last inch of that place. Hell, I would be willing to buy a few things.
