Does anyone know what the rates are to call back to the US? Does it cost a small fortune to call from your room, or would it be better to just use a cell phone and rack up roaming fees? Also, does accessing data on an iPhone cost a lot more there? Sorry if this has been asked before, I didn't see a thread for this..
I think you will get differing opinions on this topic, I personally prefer to by international calling cards and use one of the pay phones in the hotel, you definately dont want to use the hotel room phones and some of the cell companies can be as much as a dollar a minute or more if you include data... Some cell companies have pretty good international roaming rates , So you may want to call your cell company and see what the rates are, cuz sometimes you have to add an international plan to your cell phone ( ive done that before and it only cost me 5 dollars for the month to add that plan and then cancel it when i got home)
