This has been answered many times before but I think it's worth responding to again. My 2 cents: You are visiting a foreign country, why not take a few minutes of your time and change to their currency? I know they accept US$ for tips but they are only allowed to exchange a certain amount in a period due to drug money laundering laws and they only get one day off a week, who wants to go to the bank on your day off? They can't pay their bills or buy groceries with US$. Bring some US$ for Boobs Cruise, USA Transfers and shopping but tip the hard working staff in pesos. Also, tip well and often, they make between $50 - $100 a week I've read.
Thank you very much. I'm new to the group and hadn't spotted the topic before. I think I'll stick to 50/50 that way everyone is happy. We are going for 2 weeks! Can't wait [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
money they like both -- dont matter. caution us bills must be like new or the locals cannot exchange them.
Agree w above, also expect change back in pesos. Also a money conversion app was helpful for me. It's about 1 dollar to 14 pesos, but I suck at Math. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
