The peso is now trading at nearly 14 to the USD, making your money go further. This should be good news for those planning to travel to Mexico, soon.
thanks for info! How soon? We will be in Cancun in one and half weeks. Would it change our negotiation rate with cab drivers and entry fees to clubs? Usually cab drivers charges us in the range of $10 to $15 for trips from Grand Oasis to Clubs. And club entry fee ranges between $50 to $55. What is your advice?
Just pay with Pesos. Say "Cuantas a (wherever you are going), amigo?" Like cuantas a La Isla? I always tell them what I think is fair like "ochenta pesos". You just need to know your Spanish numbers which are very easy. Study on the plane and you will be good to go!
When we travel in Europe, we can either pay in Euro,s or Sterling on our credit cards. Would this apply in Mexico and could I pay in peso,s for say a room upgrade at Temptation ? and would I be any better off ? Thanks in advance for any help.
Getting the benefit of the peso exchange rate depends on whether the product or service was priced, originally, in pesos: when this peso amount is translated into dollars, it will produce a lower price, in dollars. Buying at Walmart would be an example; or, at any other, local store or business where products and services are normally priced in pesos. If the product or service you Desire is originally priced in dollars, there will be no savings.
Hey - Since you got back yesterday, how is the crowd like? I'm not saying hotel wise but just overall in Cancun. Are there more couples at the moments? More high school kids? Or more middle aged singles? Family folks? Sorry, it might sound like stupid question. But, we are going there next week. Just wondering what type of crowd we will get into this time of the year since we never been to Cancun during this time of a year.
