A friend of mine sent me an email yesterday telling me to look at Spokeo.com Not sure if anyone is interested.....but there was a ton of my personal stuff on this website. I am sure there are a bunch of these sites out there.....but this is a "new one". Seems to be getting some of the information they have from Facebook. To remove yourself, scroll down to the bottom and click on "privacy". I don't know if the info they have is for U.S residents only. Pass on the info if you think it is useful
Just to let you guys know.....some of the info on the site is WRONG....I dont know where these people are getting the info from or how old it is. It showed some of my married friends were single, some of my single friends were married, some friends it said had kids-that do not. I said some must be coming from Facebook because it had showed some of my pictures.
I checked that a while back and it said I lived in a 1 million dollar home that was in a below average neighborhood. Believe me; we don't live in a 1M (we wish) and a 1 million home would not be in a below average neighborhood. One of my listings said I was 60+ years old as well. LOL.
Wow according to that site I need to think about selling my house since it seems to be valued at 1mil+ now
Thanks for this - I don't mind putting information out there but I want to control where it goes and who sees it. Also good to know as well that my home is worth over 1mil
That shits creepy! Everyone I know is on there...I live in a below avg neighborhood...lol Oprah used to be our country neighbor wait till we tell her! lol
I would worry about trying to remove myself since they info they ask is somewhat personal and confirms your e mail which they may have wrong on the site (as they do with my info). By giving them more info you are probably helping to verify info about yourself. There are a lot of sites on line where one can find out info about ones self. Therefore this site is just another headache, though some if not all their info is not correct. Be careful what you tell them if anything at all.
