http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/entertainment_tv_tvblog/2008/10/penis-patrol-di.html Penis patrol: Did that exposed member on CBS' "Survivor" upset you? Or did you even notice? My, my. You just never know what television will bring you next. I watched the "Survivor: Gabon" premiere closely last week. But I didn't watch as closely as the folks at the Parents Television Council, which blasted CBS "for allowing a contestant's penis to air unedited during the premiere episode." I didn't see that, but said body part belonged to contestant Marcus Lehman, whose willy was freed during a race. The PTC faulted CBS for not obscuring that image. PTC has filed an indecency complaint with the Federal Communications Commission. PTC President Tim Winter said in a release: "Unfortunately, with the number of people inside the network reviewing every frame of video, CBS knew full well of this nudity and elected to include it anyway." CBS responded: "This was a completely unintentional, inadvertent and fleeting incident that was virtually undetectable when viewed in real time. In the first 24 hours after the broadcast, before freeze-frame images were widely posted online, we received one viewer comment from the 13 million who watched the telecast." Virtually undetectable? I wonder what Lehman has to say to that. But by bringing the issue to the fore, the PTC has made sure that Lehman will be detected. Over and over again.
I'm sure millions of 4-year olds were watching the episode, all of them saw it, registered it, and were either scarred for life or will suddenly start running around with their equipment hanging out. give me a freakin' break.
