Been to TTR 6 times and now looking to go to Desire. Not sure which resort, Pearl or RM should we book. Looking for opinions.
Never been to Pearl, but have been to DRM (first two trips there were in '22). It's everything we loved about the old TTR and better. Met Pearl regulars at DRM and of the most part they preferred Pearl (more chill/newer/better beach/better hot tub). We'll try Pearl someday, especially if the expansion at DRM kills the vibe, but DRM is our go-to spot for now with a few days here and there at TTR. The beach at DRM is much more private than Pearl but Pearl has a nicer beach (we stayed at Excellence a couple of times years ago, pretty close to Pearl and shares the same beach).
Hey guys, We are actually doing our first TTR this January 11-16. We have done both Pearl and RM multiple times and both of us prefer Pearl. The vibe and people are great at both so either way you can't go wrong. Pearl has a larger pool so chairs are not as complicated and If you want to chill in the afternoon you can move to the end of the pool. Pearl also has a much nicer hot tub area that is really the center of all the late night and sometimes late afternoon party fun! -We are making our 3rd trip to Pear in April...have NOT been to RM. We had the same decision to make several years ago prior to our first trip to Desire. We chose Pearl because of being newer, and from what we have read...the Better Pool, Better Hot tub. -I have to preface by saying that we tend to keep a standard of mid to high level of expectations when it comes to resorts, accommodations, food. (Please understand that we are NOT snobbish or unrealistic...and really don't want it to come across this way...just want to try to give you a better chance of making YOUR judgment of expectations more accurate)...by giving you a "snapshot" of us as this may help you to gauge some of my comments and relate them to your mindset on things. -We are 57, been married 34 years. From the Midwest. Have 2 kids in their 20's. We are both college-educated and are professionals in the business world (Healthcare and IT). We like to think that we are a "young" 57...We are in good shape / physically active / Socially active / LOVE sun, beach, tropical settings. Enjoy having cocktails and fun with friends. -We are not, "currently", in the lifestyle.. but enjoy being nude in the sun and around others in a sexy environment. So here is my take: RESORT: -The Pearl Resort is nice. Everything seems clean and the staff is extremely friendly, -The service has been outstanding in our experience. -The food...Average to Good at best. We both actually feel that the breakfast is the best meal there. -The pool is nice with swim-up bar. -The hot tub is great with swim up bar. -The Entertainment Staff at the pool (called "Play-makers") are great. -The Beach is HORRIBLE. Not much room...lot of sea weed (at least in April there is)...we don't even enjoy going into the ocean. We just stay at the pool. -The resort is tucked away through some vegetation...when you drive in, it looks pretty sketchy. PEOPLE: -You will see all types of people there...physically, socially, demographically. This makes it FUN! -I ABSOLUTELY recommend that you and your wife take the opportunity to engage with the people there. The atmosphere there makes it VERY easy to do so. You will learn who you may be "your kind" of people there. Getting to know others makes the experience that much more fun. In fact, we stay in contact with couples from both of our previous trips and have scheduled our 3rd trip together coming in April...and we will meet more people then! -You and your wife will have Yellow wristbands...meaning "First-timers" at the resort. This is not a bad thing as it creates an opportunity for conversation...again making it very easy to meet people. -We have NEVER had an inappropriate experience with anyone there...you should feel comfortable and safe. THEME NIGHTS: -Our first trip, I was in the same boat as you...not knowing what to wear. We both were conservative...and actually made us less comfortable as it seemed like EVERYBODY else went all-in. -Our Second trip...was ALL in! Wish I would have done this the First trip. -My recommendation is for BOTH of you to dress extremely risque...go outside of your comfort zone and you will love it. So here is what we did...Print off the theme nights as a guide. Then get on Amazon together and start looking at things. TWO IMPORTANT FACTS TO STRESS HERE...Do this together...and for YOU to be willing go way outside your comfort level. I promise you that this will make your wife more comfortable with everything and will encourage her to dress risque...The ABSOLUTE FACT about Desire Pearl is the it IS TRULY ALL ABOUT THE LADIES!. They are treated like Goddesses there...the confidence that they all experience there makes them all sexy. -Specifically for me...I wore everything from see-thru mesh shorts for neon night to nothing (underneath a silk black robe) for casino night. The more creative and sexy people dress, the more fun it is...you will NOT feel self conscious. MISC: -We did the Couples Sensual Massage and LOVED it! Will be doing it again in April...can give details in private message if you are interested. -We had other sexy experiences there and can share in a private message. Hey guys! We've been to the 3 Mexico resorts (TTR, Pearl & RM) and we've had a great time at all of them! We've found that RM is kind of a mix of Pearl and TTR, skewing to the TTR side of party atmosphere. It all depends on what you are looking for in your getaway and really the other guests that are there.

Hey So we have been wondering the same thing about which to choose. We just left TTR and didn't like the rules and the fact that it wasn't nude. So, we want to try Pearl or RM but we want the one that is closest to Hedo vibes with the more public sex and more ratio of nude people.
RM has a higher party vibe than Pearl in our experience, though both are filled with fun people...and nudity is everywhere both places. It all does depend on the roll of the dice as to who is there.
