Not unpeeled but I saw raw ones in bags at Chedraui at the mall. Back left corner of the store between the eggs and the tea that is in packagesthat hang on a small green display rack.

You might also try Mega by Costco in the back left corner in the bulk section by the coolers.

Thanks TJ, they´ll have to do. :)

Want to start making my own peanut-butter. Started to do some "research" on commercially made p-b... Holy cr*p how much bad stuff they put in it, haha.

Chedraui had the same brand of organic that I buy at the health food store in Orlando. Not cheap but good and theoretically healthy as peanut butter goes.

    CORRECTION RAWKUS.

I am in Chedraui now and those are toasted, not raw, peanuts, and they are now on a big table in that area, left of the watermelons.

My only additional ideas after talking to a worker here, are Mercado 23 and The Greenery.

Rawkus are you looking for unsalted peanuts?

Surely somewhere has to have them. I'll keep an eye out on my travels.

How did the falafel making go in the end?

England beating Sweden at the moment with our second rate team. Get in there!:icon_razz:

TJ: Thanks for the update :)

Mat: Yeah, basically peeled peanuts - thats it. Could peel em myself, but boy oh boy - the time spent doing that...

Falafel´s are easier to make than I thought, even from scratch. The only ones Ive tried here in Cun, are the ones that were next to Las Quekas in Plaza Avenidas... He didnt even bother "mashing" them, so it was basilcally WHOLE chickpeas, squeezed together and fried... Hmmm...

Im more than happy to see England finally win a game over us - after all, its been 43 years! :D

    Mat,

I think not. Methinks he means right out of the ground raw. Good thought though. I have taken raw almonds and made an Almond Milk of sorts, but it is sooo "grainy" that it is not what I was trying to accomplish. I did strain off the mush, and used it as a spread, like on toast, crackers or whatever.

Rawkus will have to have us over for a taste. I liked the suggestion of going to Mercado 23 and then playing 20 questions with the vendors. These peanuts come from somewhere.

Let's see what he comes up with.

    Cheers,
    T.J.

    Spot on, TJ :)

Ill head over to M23 one day soon.

Just want to be able to enjoy pb WITHOUT the extra crap they put in it, and also be able to regulate the salt to my taste. Worst case Ill just get some and peel them - just thought it would be way easier to have someone else do that, hehe.

Im curios about the almond milk you told me about, but the price per package scared me.

Still considering the Kirkland Soymilk - you think its worth a try?

Rawkus, I buy the organic peanut butter at Chedraui that Tj is talking about. It has the only ingredient as organic dry roasted peanuts. I was thinking the same thing about making my own since it costs 80 pesos or so a jar. After looking at dry roasted peanut prices I decided to just buy the damn peanut butter! If you come up with a cost-effective solution please let me know.
