Are they available in the states like they are here, ie, you can just buy a card, put some credit on it stick it in your existing cell phone and use it as a normal phone instead of been tied into a monthly contract. If so where can you get them ? Ta muchley.. Ian
I'm basically just after a card I can put in my phone and use whilst in Vegas/CT/ where ever in the US rather that run up huge bills on cross transatlantic routed calls to people who are a few miles away. Ian
If your phone is unlocked (not tied to any particular carrier) and is a quad band phone, then you can put in a AT&T Go Phone SIM card or a T-Mobile To Go SIM card and it will work just fine. You can find these anywhere, but the least expensive is ebay. If you phone from home is locked to one carrier or not a quad band phone, another really easy solution is to stop at any Walmart (or anywhere really) and get a Tracphone. Same deal except you get a throwaway phone with the deal.
Cheers for that ' urefinneJ ', that was the info I was looking for. Some one PM'd me about the tracphone's that seemed ok but would mean me swapping phone books onto the new phone but the AT&T sim cards that I can just put in my existing phone ( yup, unlocked and quadband ) look exactly what I was looking for. Thanks. Ian
