Padrino's just opened a new location in Plaza Quetzal, across from the Hotel Presidente Int[ercontinental. This is the little plaza where Ty Coz has been a fixture for 20 years. Some of you will remember the great pizza hangout on Tulum, just north of Chedraui. Padrino's is brought to us by Cory, the owner of the famous Surfin' Burrito. Check them out on Trip Advisor. Coming Soon - Cory is about two weeks away from opening a Sushi restaurant next door to Padrino's. I stopped by today and had the El Capo ($65) posted above and also tried the Mexican ($59). Both were incredible. Give them a try.
Not much Steve. I had other business there so it was 2 things for 1 trip. Plus I seem to run into Cory a lot and he has been keeping me up to date on the buildout. The Sushi place should have spectacular food. He is bringing in the freshest fish possilbe, never been frozen. Maybe he will have a locals price. They are refining that menu at the moment.
Hoooray..... Finally some awesome and possibly affordable sushi in the HZ. Good i am hitting Cancun in 4 days.
Nic, it will be close to being open when you are here. Cory is doing like a soft opening, working out the kinks. But the Padrino's part is rocking and rolling. SCMons - Well, at least you are close enough not to pack a lunch just to go to lunch.
Nic, if you see Cory before I do, tell him to garnish the plates. The foto makes it look boring, although the paninis rocked. Can't believe I ate two of them, just to taste the El Capo. But well worth it.
