Hey guys! Wife and I are taking a quick trip at the beginning of April for our first time. Wondering if there’s anything we should know prior to coming and if there were things you wished you would’ve brought your first trip. Thanks in advance and we’re looking forward to it!

Depends on how long you are going....
small suction cup hooks (for wet items)
small single-use packet of laundry detergent, like Tide (gym clothes)
wire hangers (there are never enough in the room)
insulated mug w/cover and straw (keep ice in and pool water out)
Benadryl lotion (to combat the pool chemicals)
Waterproof pool bag/backpack (it rains occasionally)
    Tipping currency (your choice)
    Hats/sunglasses/sun block
    bar of soap (personal preference)
    etc...etc...etc...

Suction cup hooks are a must. Trust people on this.
    cup with a lid
less vanilla clothes than you think (you'll still bring too much)
liquid IV or some other morning hydration solution
clothes hangers, as others have said

I like to have a separate beach bag ready and easily accessible for when you first arrive at the resort. Unless your arrival is later, like after 3pm, there's a good chance your room will not be ready. You will be able to enjoy the resort in every other way: restaurant, drinks, pool, beach, activities, etc. So it's good to have your beach/pool stuff ready so you're not fishing through your suitcases in the lobby. It would be good for the bag to have sunglasses, hats, sunscreen, flip flops, cups (like Yeti, Bubba Mug, etc), clips or bands to secure the towel to the beds/chairs, a power bank (or solar charger) if your phone is dying and money for tips.

As mentioned before, less is more. It's easy to overpack. You can get away with a few basic outfits and accessories for the theme nights. Don't feel the need to go crazy with shoes. One nice pair for dinners or just because, one comfy pair or sandals for when you are not in flip-flops. One time I packed white shoes, black shoes, gold shoes, sparkly glitter shoes and all I wore that week were the simple black heels. If possible, wear your heaviest or bulkiest shoes on the plane, to save space in your bags.

Other good stuff to bring: sunscreen, aloe vera (in case of sunburn), meds like tylenol, ibuprofen, Imodium, Tums/Rolaids/Pepcid, insect repellent, itch-cream, Dramamine (if you tend to get seasick), Liquid IV or similar (we use Zip Fizz a lot) extra plastic bags for your dirty laundry, baby powder (helps prevent chafing if shoes are tight and good to help get sand off your skin), baby oil (in case you have to remove temporary tattoos), chargers for your phones/devices, disinfectant wipes (if you're a germaphobe like I tend to be), copies of your passport.

Also, if you can, join a group and find the people who will be visiting at the same time as you. It's nice to get to "know" the people before meeting them. If you need ideas on how to find groups, PM me (I don't think we are supposed to mention them here)

Oh and finally, I would advise not going to the sales presentation. If you love the resort and want to become a member, there are people who are willing to sell you their membership or add you as a beneficiary.

    Cheers,
    Katy
